Dearly exists to carry a private moment from one person to another. We collect only what is needed to create, deliver, protect, and delete that moment.

What we keep

The names and words placed in a gift; the sender’s email; optional photos or voice notes; a delivery destination when Dearly sends the link; delivery and opening status; receiver reactions; safety reports; and basic technical information needed to prevent abuse. An unfinished gift may be saved only in that browser’s local storage so it can recover after a refresh.

How it is used

Gift information is used to display and deliver the gift, show its sender whether it arrived, send a receiver’s response privately to the sender, prevent misuse, and operate Dearly. A sender’s email is never shown on the receiver’s gift. We do not sell gift content or use it for advertising.

Anonymous product signals

Dearly records a small set of cookie-free journey events—such as a gift being created, delivered, untied, completed, or answered—so broken steps can be found and the experience can improve. These signals use a one-way anonymous identifier and a broad device category. They never contain names, email addresses, gift or reply text, photos, audio, private links, IP addresses, precise location, or a full browser fingerprint.

Private links

Receiver and management links act like keys. Anyone who has the appropriate link may be able to open the gift or manage it, so do not post those links publicly.

Photos and voice notes

Uploaded media is stored separately from the public website and served only through an active gift link. File type and size are checked before storage.

How long it stays

Gifts expire after 90 days by default. A sender can delete a gift earlier through their private management link. The sender’s email is deleted with the gift. Delivery destinations are retained only as a masked hint after a delivery attempt. Anonymous product signals are also removed after 90 days. A recovered unfinished draft remains on that device until the gift is wrapped or the browser’s site data is cleared.

Your choices

You may avoid direct delivery and copy the gift link yourself. Senders can delete gifts. Receivers can report unwanted or unsafe gifts from the final screen.
